Balmoral
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
This
year
Balmoral
once
again
had
the
honour
to
open
the
cruise
season
in
Antwerp.
The
ship
is
a
regular
visitor
but
this
time
it
was
a
whole
other
sight.
Last
year
Fred.
Olsen
decided
to
repaint
their
fleet
with
a
dark
grey
hull
and
a
red
line.
At
the
end
of
last
year
they
were
already
painting
the
ship
when
docked
in
Antwerp
but
now we could see the final product.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 19 March 2016.
Braemar
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
The
Braemar
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp.
This
time
the
ship
also
has
the
new
dark
grey
hull
with
the
red
stripe.
The
ship
was
built
in
1993
en
had
a
length
of
163
metres
back
then.
In
2008
the
ship
was
lengthened
with 32 metres to 195 metres. To do that the ship was cut in two and a section was put in between.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 13 & 14 April 2016.
Europa
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises
The
Europa
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp
this
year.
The
passengers
were
able
to
enjoy
a
beautiful
summerlike
day
in
the
city.
The
ship
has
a
length
of
200
metres
and
can
accommodate
408
passengers.
According
to
the
Berlitz
Cruise
Guide
for
Cruising
and
Cruise
Ships
the
Europa
is,
together
with
the
Europa
2,
the best cruise ship in the world.
This ship was berthed in Antwerpen on 6 May 2016.
Seabourn Quest
Seabourn
The
luxury
cruise
ship
Seabourn
Quest
visited
Antwerp
for
the
third
year
in
a
row.
The
ship
was
docked
in
the
city
on
a
warm
summerlike
day.
Seabourn
Quest
has
a
length
of
198
metres
and
can
accommodate
450
passengers. The ship was built at the shipyard of T. Mariotti in Italy in 2011.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 8 May 2016.
The World
Residensea
This
year
the
residential
ship
The
World
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp.
It
is
the
only
ship
on
which
you
can
buy
an
apartment.
That
way
the
passengers
can
sail
around
the
world.
The
passengers
can
decide
what
places
the ship will visit. The World has a length of 196 metres and can accommodate 200 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp from 19 until 21 May 2016.
Silver Whisper

This
ship
is
part
of
the
luxury
fleet
of
Silversea
Cruises.
The
Silver
Whisper
has
a
length
of
186
metres
and
can
accommodate
390
passengers
and
295
crew
members.
The
ship
was
built
in
2000
at
the
Mariotti
Shipyard
in
Genoa, Italy.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 29 May 2015.
Ocean Majesty

This
year
the
Ocean
Majesty
of
the
German
cruise
line
Hansa
Touristik
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
first
time.
The
ship
was
built
in
1966
in
Valencia,
Spain
as
the
ferry
'Juan
March'.
Later
the
ship
was
rebuilt
as
a
cruise ship. Ocean Majesty has a length of 131 metres and can accommodate 620 passengers.
This ships was berthed in Antwerp on 30 May 2016.

After
12
years
the
Crystal
Symphony
of
the
American
cruise
line
Crystal
Cruises
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp.
The
ship
was
docked
in
the
city
for
a
turn-around
call.
That
means
that
new
passengers
come
on
board. Crystal Symphony has a length of 238 metres and can accommodate 922 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 6 & 7 June 2016.

year

Marina
of
the
American
luxury
cruise
line
Oceania
Cruises
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
first
time.
With
a
length
of
238
metres
it
was
the
largest
cruise
ship
that
visited
the
city
this
year.
MS
Marina
was
built in 2011 and can accommodate 1252 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 17 June 2016.
Silver Wind
Silversea Cruises
The
Silver
Wind
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
second
time.
The
ship
was
built
in
1994
at
the
Mariotti-Yard
in
Italy.
The
Silver
Wind
is
a
sister
ship
of
the
Silver
Cloud.
The
ship
has
a
length
of
156
metres
and
can
accommodate 315 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 19 July 2016.

Oceania
Cruises
is
one
of
8
identical
ships
of
the
former
company
Renaissance
Cruises.
After
they
went
bankrupt
the
ships
were
sold
to
several
cruise
lines.
The
ship
has
a
length
of 180 metres and can accommodate 700 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 8 August 2016.

This
luxurious
vessel
of
Holland
America
Line
has
a
langth
of
204
metres
and
can
accommodate
790
passengers.
The
ship
sails
under
the
Dutch
flag
and
is
registered
in
Rotterdam.
Prinsendam
visited
Antwerp
with 34°C. The passengers coud enjoy the tropical weather in the city.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 24 August 2016.
Azamara Quest

ship

the
American
company
Azamara
Club
Cruises
is
one
of
8
identical
shipsof
the
now
defunct
cruise
line
Renaissance
Cruises.
After
their
bankruptcy
the
ships
were
sold
to
other
cruise
lines.
The
ship
has
a
length
of 181 metres and can accommodate 700 passengers. It was the first time Azamara Quest visited Antwerp.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 4 & 5 September 2016.
National Geograpric Orion
National Geographic / Lindblad Expeditions
The
small
expedition
cruise
ship
of
Lindblad
Expeditions
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
first
time
in
2016.
National
Geographic
Orion
can
accommodate
100
passengers
and
70
crew
members.
The
ship
has
a
length
of
103
metres and is the second-smallest ship of the season.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 9 September 2016.
Artania
Phoenix Reisen
Artania
from
the
German
company
Phoenix
Reisen
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
First
time.
The
231
metres
long
ship
was
built
in
1984
as
Royal
Princess
for
Princess
Cruises
and
was
docked
in
Antwerp
in
2000
under
that name. MS Artania can accommodate 1260 passengers. The ship sailed from Antwerp to Flushing.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 26 September 2016.
Astor

MS
Astor
was
docked
in
Antwerp
on
26
September
as
the
second
ship
of
the
day.
All
the
passengers
disembarked
in
Antwerp
and
the
ship
left
to
the
shipyard
in
Flushing
at
4
a.m.
There
the
ship
was
prepared
for
its
winter
season
in
Australia.
The
logo
on
the
funnel
was
changed
to
that
of
Cruise
&
Maritime
Voyages
for
a
few months.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 26 September 2016.
Hamburg
Plantours Kreuzfahrten
MS
Hamburg
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
first
time
this
year.
The
ship
from
the
German
cruise
line
Plantours
Kreuzfahrten
has
a
length
of
144
metres
and
can
accommodate
400
passengers.
In
1997
the
ship
was
built
at
the
MTW
Schiffswerft
in
the
German
city
of
Wismar.
There
it
got
the
name
c.
Columbus.
In
2002
the
ship was also docked in Antwerp with this name.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 5 October 2016.
Corinthian
Grand Circle Cruise Line
The
very
small
expedition
cruise
ship
MV
Corinthian
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp
this
year.
The
ship
had
a
dry
dock
period
at
the
end
of
last
year.
The
hull
of
the
ship
has
also
been
painted
fully
in
dark
blue.
In
1990
the
ship
was
built
as
Renaissance
4
for
Renaissance
Cruises.
Later
the
ship
was
rechristened
as
Clelia
II
and
later Orion II.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 19 October 2016.
Magellan
Cruise & Maritime Voyages
The
flag
ship
of
Cruise
&
Maritime
Voyages
was
docked
three
times
in
Antwerp
for
Christmas
cruises
during
the
month
of
December.
In
1985
the
ship
was
built
for
the
American
cruise
giant
Carnival
Cruise
Lines.
MS
Magellan has a length of 222 metres and can accommodate 1450 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 8, 15 & 20 December 2016.
